*Note: The video playlist at the bottom of the post attempts to closely approximate the shuffle I listened to on my way to work this morning. When a video for a song was not available, I substituted another song by the same artist. When I could not find any videos by an artist, I included a related video or did not include a video for that track. This blog may reference unreleased tracks, however, no unreleased music is ever included.
Okay - This will be my last shuffle until next Tuesday. Big doings this weekend, and Monday is a holiday from work. So, let's go!
"Not My War" by Trond Svendsen and Tuxedo
First up, we have the first of two tracks from Smalltown Stories by Norwegian band Trond Svendsen and Tuxedo. A really fabulous album.
"Daylight Came (III)" by Dizraeli
A brief track from The Unmaster by UK hip-hop artist Dizraeli.
"24 Pictures of You" by Neutrals
Another track from Kebab Disco by this Oakland, California of Scottish punks.
"Wheatfields" by Taylor Barton
Next, another lovely track from House of Light. This album features several high-profile musical guests including G.E. Smith (Bob Dylan, SNL Band) who has been married to Barton since 1990.
"Tom Bombadil" by Tate and Silas
Next, another from Third: Nothing to Lose by the Connecticut based duo of Tate and Silas. It is just plain old great rock and roll really.
"Blue Ridge Crest" by Flying Buffaloes
Next, a gorgeous instrumental from Loading and Rollin' by Flying Buffaloes.
"She Wants to Believe" by Charlie Hager
Truth and Love is out now. So, excited to be able to feature this album from one of my favorites. Check out Charlie Hager today.
"All Those Wires" by Marty Willson-Piper
Hanging Out in Heaven - the 2000 solo album from former The Church member Marty Willson-Piper was reissued back in Record Store Day.
"Lone Prairie" by Leland Sundries
Next up, another track from Pray Through Gritted Teeth - the latest album by long-running Brooklyn band Leland Sundries - led by Nick Loss-Eaton has relocated to Memphis.
"Cold House" by Trond Svendsen and Tuxedo
Our second listen to Smalltown Stories is just a fantastic song.
"Humankind" by Helene Cronin
We close with a much needed song and sentiment from singer-songwriter Helene Cronin from her album Old Ghosts and Lost Causes. Kindness is an invaluable gift to offer.
