*Note: The video playlist at the bottom of the post attempts to closely approximate the shuffle I listened to on my way to work this morning. When a video for a song was not available, I substituted another song by the same artist. When I could not find any videos by an artist, I included a related video or did not include a video for that track. This blog may reference unreleased tracks, however, no unreleased music is ever included.
And we are back after an extra long weekend. Time for a Trending Tuesday shuffle.
"The Far Side" by m1nk
First up, we have some Altronica from UK/Greece by way of m1nk (em one en kay). This is from an album called m1nk = em one en kay which came out back in March. This song goes back to last year - as seen in the video playlist. Cool stuff."You" by Ring Ring Rouge
Next up, another from Talking in Installments by Ring Ring Rouge. Digging this album.
"The First Incision" by David J
Staying with a very UK and alternative vein - we have another track from the reissue of Crocodile Tears and the Velvet Kosh by David J (Bauhaus, Love and Rockets).
"Blue Smoke" by Triggers and Slips
Returning to the States, we have a track from The Stranger which is due out later this month. Triggers and Slips - the Salt Lake City based band plays country, soul flavored Americana/roots music. Looking forward to the release of this album.
"They Went Up" by The Pull of Autumn
Next - another from Afterglow by The Pull of Autumn. The thing I love about The Pull of Autumn is the diversity of their sound. This one starts with a dramatic vocal and stirring music.
"Say Die" by David G. Smith
Next up, we have another track from Who Cares by singer-songwriter David G. Smith - who divides time between Tennessee and Iowa. This is a wonderful album filled with great songs - including this one.
"Walking to the Mission in The Rain" by Heavydrunk
Next up, we have the second single from Holywater by Heavydrunk - the band led by Rob Robinson of Franklin (owner of Puckett's in Leiper's Fork). A fantastic album of blues and rock song.
"One More Song" by Nick Nace
Next up, one of my favorite songs from Wrestling With the Mystery by Nashville-based singer-songwriter Nick Nace. The CD release show for this album was one of the best nights of music I have seen this year. Highlighted by Nace's own set with a killer band.
"Mortal Flames" by John Dennis
"Board Game Money" by John Dennis
We close with a Tuesday Twofer from the forthcoming Mortal Flames by Nashville singer-songwriter John Dennis. I first met Dennis through Josh Gray, Jason Erie, and Brian Milligram. I have always loved his music and his songs, but this album - which won't be out until 2020 - blew me away. We have the title track and another song from the album. This is going to set a very high bar for best album of 2020.
