Trending Thursday Morning Shuffle - C'est La Vie Mix (Fortune Cookie Remix)

Be sure to "Like" Ear to the Ground on Facebook!

*Note: The video playlist at the bottom of the post attempts to closely approximate the shuffle I listened to on my way to work this morning. When a video for a song was not available, I substituted another song by the same artist. When I could not find any videos by an artist, I included a related video or did not include a video for that track. This blog may reference unreleased tracks, however, no unreleased music is ever included.

A bit short on time, but I will take a couple of minutes to remind you that the WXNA Fall Pledge Drive is running through this Sunday, November 24.  You can donate to support this vital community resource by visiting wxnafm.org or by calling (615) 933-9962 during broadcast hours.

Now, it is shuffle time!

"Such is Life (C'est La Vie)" by Chuck Hawthorne

How about we start with another track from singer-songwriter Chuck Hawthorne's latest album Fire Out of Stone.

"Fotune Cookie Writer" by Def Robot

Next up, we have UK band Def Robot from their album Makers of Mountains.  The band has a brand new album called You Will Not Be Discovered set for release just after the start of the new year.

"Colors II" by Ummagma

Next, we have a track from Compass by Canadian/Ukrainian duo, Ummagma.

"What Is Her Name" by Marty Willson-Piper

Next, the first of two tracks from Hanging Out in Heaven - the RSD reissue of the 2000 solo album by this former member of The Church.

"Settle Down" by The Cravens

Our friends from Florida - The Cravens are up next with another track from their latest - The Dark Side of Love.

"Sally Go 'Round The Roses" by Medicine

California shoegaze band Medicine are up next with a track from their album Scarred for Life.

"Swan" by Marty Willson-Piper

Track #2 from Hanging Out in Heaven by Marty Willson-Piper.

"Lightning" by Joe Goodkin
"Every Light Is A Fire" by Joe Goodkin

And we close out this shuffle with two in a row from Paper Arrows by Chicago singer-songwriter Joe Goodkin.  Lightning and Light and Fire - all seems part and parcel of the same thing - right?

Sorry for the abbreviated post.  We will be back tomorrow to close out the week!
