*Note: The video playlist at the bottom of the post attempts to closely approximate the shuffle I listened to on my way to work this morning. When a video for a song was not available, I substituted another song by the same artist. When I could not find any videos by an artist, I included a related video or did not include a video for that track. This blog may reference unreleased tracks, however, no unreleased music is ever included.

Now, we are back in time for Music City Monday - exploring some of the music that makes Nashville Music City USA!
Let's go!
"Slow Down" by Ghost Town Remedy
First up, we have Ghost Time Remedy with a song that goes back to their 2017 Caffeine Dreams release. We premiered their new single Super Glue earlier in 2019 and look forward to hearing more from them soon. A fun, high-energy indie rock, power pop band.
"Synchronicity I" by Brett Ryan Stewart
Next up, we have a cover of one of the two title tracks from Synchronicity (the fifth and final studio album by The Police). It is from Hiding Under Covers - the 2018 covers collection by the singer-songwriter, musician, producer etc. A great cover of a song I have always liked.
"Going to Montgomery" by Davis Raines
The first time I heard this Davis Raines song - a powerful song about the Civil Rights movement in the South, it was performed by Jon Byrd. Byrd and Raines are both originally from Alabama and are two of our finest songwriters. In the video playlist, check out Raines performing this song - the title track to his album - with Jon Byrd and Byrd's Auto Parts (video by my friend Jan).
"One Bar Town"by Sergio Webb
Sergio Webb lately has been dividing time between Nashville and the southwest, but I saw him last week here in town. He has been a huge figure in Nashville's music community (and beyond) for many years. Although he is best known as a sideman - his solo albums - like Bolivar Blues from which this song comes - prove him to be a talented front man was well.
"Take Me Back Home" by Becky Warren
Going back to War Surplus - the powerful and important concept album by singer-songwriter Becky Warren. This song and the album as a whole deals with the issues of PTSD on soldiers returning from war - an all too common issue.
"Hollow" by Year of October
Next, we have long-time E2TG favorites Year of October with a track from their Trouble Comes album. Incredible guitar work and vocals from Josh and Phlecia Sullivan.
"Better Than I Was (When I Wasn't So Good)" by Chuck Mead
Close to Home is the most recent solo album from Chuck Mead. When the album was released he played a week long series of shows around Nashville with his backing band - The Grassy Knoll Boys. A fantastic album by one of our best.
"Do You Love Your Company?" by Ron Gallo
Nashville by way of Philly indie band Ron Gallo with a track from Stardust Birthday Party. I still remember the first time I saw this band and not knowing anything about them, falling in love with their energy and sound.
"My Me" by Joe, Marc's Brother
For a time in the 1990s. Joe, Marc's Brother (Joe Pisapia is the Joe and his brother Marc is the Marc) were almost ubiquitous around the Nashville music scene. When I first started going to The 5 Spot -there was a graffiti in the men's room with the band's name and no other words. Recently, Joe Pisapia has released an impressive solo album. This goes back to 1996 and The Debut of Joe, Marc's Brother.
"Breakfast" by Darrin Bradbury
We close with E2TG all-time favorite Darrin Bradbury with a song from his latest album Talking Dogs and Atom Bombs. Breakfast was the first song released from the album. It shows off Bradbury's ability to make a seemingly mundane topic into a highly humorous and deeply thought our reflection on life.
