All of this happened a long time ago when the world was a very different place. Of course, none of us knew that at the time.

E2TG July 2018 NEW!

Whew!  What a week!  The news, my life, my work.... definitely a lot going on.  ICYMI (which you may have because FACEBOOK decided to delete posts for a while (they are back), E2TG posted a song feature on the new single from singer-songwriter Danny Schmidt. You can read about and listen to it - HERE.

It is Thursday and time to focus back on the "New Music" playlist - (songs we are currently featuring here at E2TG.  We have a couple of first listens for us, and the return of some favorites. Let's shuffle!

"Everything is Heavy" (Radio Edit) by Lost Chocolate Lab

First up, is a first listen to a track from Lost Landscapes from Seattle noise/shoegaze band Lost Chocolate Lab.  The album is due out August 31.  Currently just two tracks are available for preview.  We have a video of one of those tracks in the video playlist below.  More to come on this fascinating music.

"Light and Shade" by David J

In recent months, we have featured music by the band Poptone which features Daniel Ash and Kevin Haskins of Bauhaus and Love and Rockets.  Now we have a track by their band mate David J.  This is a track from his landmark second solo album   Crocodile Tears and the Velvet Cosh which was originally released in 1985 and is being reissued next month is conjunction with David J playing some European dates with Bauhaus singer Peter Murphy.  In addition, David J will be playing a couple of intimate solo dates in the UK this weekend - including one at the studio where this album was recorded.  This is great sounding music that still sounds fresh 30+ years down the road.
"The Place" by Moonshine Booze

Italian band Moonshine Booze are back with another track from their Desert Roads album.  I wrote extensively about them earlier this week - I will just add - there is a cool music video for this track in the video playlist below.

"Shapeless Buildings" by Eraldo Bernocchi and Chihei Hatakeyama

We return to the Solitary Universe release from this pair of innovative guitarists. Eraldo Bernocchi is from Itlay and Chihei Hatakeyama is from Japan.  Together - they push the boundaries of music and weave a lush tapestry of sounds.

"Chasin' The Dragon" by The Zealots

Next up, a rocking track from Jawbone by Asheville, NC band The Zealots.  The Zealots features the songs of George Terry McDonald (whose solo George Trouble album - PLOW - is also on my featured list.

"A Jug in the Road" by Ezra Bell

Next, we have another track from the self-titled album by Portland, OR band Ezra Bell. We featured a different track from this album earlier in the week. Really wonderful music.

"Hold My Head Up High" by Speedbuggy USA

We close things out with a track from Kick Out the Twang by California cow punk band - Speedbuggy USA.  A nice, up-tempo rocker from one of my favorite albums of 2018.
