*Note: The video playlist at the bottom of the post attempts to closely approximate the shuffle I listened to on my way to work this morning. When a video for a song was not available, I substituted another song by the same artist. When I could not find any videos by an artist, I included a related video or did not include a video for that track. This blog may reference unreleased tracks, however, no unreleased music is ever included.

Short on time... bear with me
"The Green Country" by Medicine
The first of two tracks from shoegaze legends. Their new album is called Scarred for Life and it is a covers album. This is their interpretation of a 1958 Jimmy Giuffre jazz composition.
"Fuck Old People" by Worthless Commodity
Worthless Commodity is a young hardcore punk band from Fort Collins. A friend of mine met them a month or so back at a Comic convention in Colorado, and he turned me on to their music. This is from their only release a 3 song demo EP called We Used to Be Your Neighbors. The album clocks in at just under 5 minutes. This the shortest track clocking in at a respectable 0:56. My friend, Ron, started talking to them because one of them had on a D.R.I. t-shirt. Cool stuff. And, yeah I'm old, but I'm punk enough and have enough of memory to understand the sentiment.
"Screens" by Ben Arthur
Three tracks today from Ben Arthur's forthcoming Perspective album. I said time was short, but I keep writing a lot. If you don't know about Ben Arthur - search him on this site and read up. We may have this album covered before it officially comes out.
"Forget the Radio" by Marty Willson-Piper
Another track from Hanging Out in Heaven - the 2019 Record Store Day reissue of his earlier album.
"Dead Time Bummer Blues" by Medicine
Our second track from Medicine. This one is a cover of a Judee Sill song. How cool is that? Very cool is the right answer.
"Rooster" by Triggers and Slips
It must be a day for covers, because we have our first listen to The Stranger (due out in November) which is the 2nd album by the Salt Lake City band. This is a bonus track - their cover of the Alice in Chains song. Rooster was on Alice in Chains 2nd album Dirt.
"Lonesome Cowboy" by Flying Buffaloes
Next up, we have the first of two tracks from Nashville band Flying Buffaloes. Loaded and Rollin' is the name of the album. They are a fantastic live band so check them out.
"Long Con" by Ben Arthur
"Fantasyland" by Ben Arthur
Two more from Ben Arthur. "Long Con" is a powerful song about school shootings and Parkland in particular. Fantasyland comes from the SongWriter podcast and is Arthur's response to "Fantasyland" by Kurt Anderson.
"Ridge Crest Reprise" by Flying Buffaloes
Our second track from Flying Buffaloes is a brief reprise of Ridge Crest.
"Winter Tale (A.R. Kane 69 Style Mix)" by Ummagma
And, we close things out with a 6 minute (plus) track from the Canadian/Ukrainian duo Ummagma. It is a remix done by the UK duo A.R. Kane - who are perhaps best known for their involvement in "Punp Up the Volume" as part of the one-off collaboration MARRS.
